Extra High Voltage (EHV) substations are the backbone of electrical transmission networks, serving as critical infrastructure for voltage transformation, switching, and power distribution. At Srihari Techno Projects, we specialize in designing, constructing, and commissioning EHV substations up to 220 kV voltage level with comprehensive engineering excellence and proven track record.
EHV substations operate at voltage levels from 132 kV to 220 kV, handling large amounts of electrical power with minimal losses. These facilities serve as interconnection points in the power grid, transforming voltage levels for efficient transmission and distribution while providing essential switching and protection functions for the electrical network.
Our EHV substation projects incorporate essential components including power transformers for voltage transformation, circuit breakers for switching and protection, busbars as main conductors, current and potential transformers for metering and protection, lightning arrestors for surge protection, earthing systems for safety, and comprehensive control rooms with SCADA systems for monitoring and operation.
We design EHV substations in various configurations based on reliability requirements and site constraints. Single busbar configurations provide economical solutions for smaller installations, while double busbar systems offer enhanced reliability with main and spare busbars. For critical applications, we implement one-and-a-half circuit breaker configurations and triple busbar systems that ensure maximum continuity and operational flexibility.
Our strong customer-focused approach and constant quest for top-class quality has enabled us to attain and sustain leadership position in infrastructure business. We deliver EHV substations with capabilities to execute projects in difficult terrains and conditions.
Dr. G. Giridhar Reddy - Chairman & Managing Director
Our EHV substations are designed with outdoor Air Insulated Substation (AIS) configurations, featuring equipment mounted on metal or concrete structures with bare aluminum conductors. We organize substations by bays including line bays, transformer bays, bus coupling bays, and reactor bays. Each bay includes specialized switchgear, transformers, and protection systems tailored to specific operational requirements.
Protection systems include primary and backup protection schemes with advanced relay systems, comprehensive earthing networks for safety, and SCADA integration for remote monitoring and control. All designs comply with Indian electrical standards and international best practices for safety and reliability.
Srihari Techno Projects has successfully commissioned major EHV substation projects including the 132/33kV sub-station commissioned by Director Projects-TS Transco, 220kV Substation at Rachagunneri (Chindepalli) in Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh, and Domalapenta 220kV Substation commissioned by Hon'ble CMD of TS Transco. These projects demonstrate our expertise in complex substation design and execution.
Our project execution capabilities include comprehensive EPC services from concept to commissioning, with strong project management, experienced professional engineers, and well-integrated supply chain management. We maintain preferred contractor status with state electricity boards across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.
